This Man is Blogging Nervously

It has been like forever since I last update this blog. To be honest, I am not sure if I should continue writing to this blog or not. There are few reasons/excuses not to:

  1. My mind was pre-occupied with work related stuffs, e.g. doing work assignments, consulting customers, or studying for professional certification.
  2. My mind is no longer creative enough to put what I have in mind into words. I remember looking back to one unsent email to my previous lady-of-interest... and it surprised me of how I could continue writing for pages non stop. What happened now? Perhaps my mind now is too soaked with so many "curly braces" (ie, programming source code).
  3. Since the theme of this blog is a "single man" writing some thing interest only to himself, perhaps this theme is a mistake. A sane man will not want to be single forever. And as of now, how should I categorized myself - single, or not? ;-)
  4. This blog used to be the place for some ladies in my past, to get to know me. Well, this blog served something like history, and I can't say that I am proud to every and each of them.
  5. Well, the biggest question why should I write more... it is not like I have super traffic coming to this blog. ;-)

Well, those excuse might be right reason to stop blogging... however, I could ignore them too.

Until this morning... when I have a conversation with sweet lady friend. She told me that, the blog titled "Journal of a Single Man" was found by her co-worker. I reserved her co-worker's comment about this blog to myself. He he... I was nervous when I found out that my sweet lady friend found this blog. ;-)

Cheers, and "Selamat Hari Raya"

A Week in Melbourne

If you are my friends inFaceBook, you'd probably know that I am in Melbourne right now, for one week course. Flying for long distance flight is a thrill on itself. Flying to Mebourne during this season add more weight to the thrill.

Don't quote me on this.. most of the H1N1 Flu (aka Swine Flu) in Malaysia is coming from Melbourne. So, it makes sense to be very nervous about flying to Melbourne. For this trip, the usual response that I received from my family members if I could postpone my travel plan. Normally, they will be excited to (with some kind of instruction to buy souvenirs), but it is not the case for this trip.

In the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), it is not unusual to see some people is using mask. However, it is not that many, it might be one out of 200 people use mask, and most of the are Airport personnel and shop's personnel. I reckon that, during flight, I maybe the only one who used the mask. If you have to ask, I did un-mask while having foods in flight.

I arrived Melbourne airport at night. Arriving in Melbourne meant that I lost two hours... since Melbourne is two hours ahead of Malaysia's time zone.

In the airport, I could not see anyone using mask. This is definitely a surprise to me. Why? Does not anyone care or worried about the pandemic? It takes a while to wait for my luggage to appear. While waiting, I was terribly worried when one elderly women next to was wiping her nose (she got flu). I momentarily pause to breath, until I am confident enough that everything is safe.

For the next few days, I become very conscious about people around me. I did aware that some of them got flu. However, I reckon and I hope that they just have normal flu.

Tomorrow, I will be flying back to Malaysia. Am I still healthy? Yes. However, I  think I have a minor flu, and no fever. What should I do? I just need to declare truthfully in health declaration form that will need to be submitted upon arrival. I am sure I will be alright (I hope). Worst come to worst, health official may ask to exercise self quarantine for a week. If I do get such instruction, it does not means that I don't have to work, because I am still able to work from home.

Looking forward to fly back tomorrow. For this whole one week (plus plus) trip, I did not make any phone call back to Malaysia. Yes, definitely making a phone call will be the very first agenda as soon as I arrive KLIA. ;-) Cheers.

The Best Father in the World

We always be reminded about the love of our father. However, surely such advice is never being too much.

This is what an honest child said about her father:

Umbrella

Today, it was raining when I drove back from work to the apartment I live in. I used the 'car umbrella' to get out from the car and walked to my apartment. I barely remembered when was the last time I used it. Did I ever use it after the first time I bought and use it right away? Maybe no. If so, it has been about four months since an umbrella was last needed.

I remembered last time, when I was setting my eyes to a new Honda City car. It has special compartment under the back seat to store an umbrella. That is very nice feature. Honda should be praised for the idea. However, no matter how much I like Honda car, I chose another car which is more affordable. It is my beautiful genetic-silver Proton Persona. It does not have special compartment under the back seat. However, I kept my umbrella at the back.

It is still raining now. It has been already half past mid night. I had trouble sleeping at night because the room temperature is hot enough not to be comfortable. Since it is raining, I am very grateful. The temperature should be dropping, and I could have sleep more easily. Yes, in theory.

Perhaps, next week, when I embark at Melbourne airport, I will remember how 'well' I complain about hot tropical weather in Malaysia. Currently, it is winter time for Melbourne. I will definitely need more 'fat' to keep my body warm. If 'too hot' make us difficult to get as asleep, 'too cold' make sleeping too suffering.

Mmm... Why I am still here? "Go to sleep now" - that is what my wise mind advise me. Please... make it rain longer, and note to self: Don't forget to bring the umbrella to where it belong (Persona ;-)). Good nite, dear.

Microsoft Certified Professional Developer: Web Developer

Hi all,

I just completed my third paper towards second certification. This morning I sit for paper 70-547 and passed! Passing this paper qualifies me to "Microsoft Certified Professional Developer: Web Developer" certification

I feel so relief, knowing that now I could focus to stuff I should deliver to the customer. Currently, I am responsible in maintaining the The Good Guys website.
